About Us

Together in Christ is an ecumenical body, representing partner churches in the area near Guildford of Burpham, Merrow, West & East Clandon and Sutton Park. There are several different denominations represented. These are Anglican, Catholic, Methodist and Baptist (the latter church community is now based in central Guildford, but is represented).

Together in Christ has a committee made up of clergy and lay from the member churches. It meets every two months in fellowship to pray together, share fellowship and news and to plan several activities. These are activities for the whole of the community of the member churches and for anyone else who wishes to participate. They include an evening act of worship together in one of the partner churches in every month there is a fifth Sunday, the local celebration of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in January every year, and preparation together for Easter. Usually prayer or discussion groups are formed for a six week period just before Easter. There are sometimes other joint activities in this period.

Together in Christ helps to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in the area. One way is by distributing information about times of services in the different churches at Christmas and Easter, warmly inviting the community to join in the celebration and sending greetings at these times. We hope this website will help to make our work more widely known.
